Mielu

Acrylic on paper

4/24

Mielu is a character born from a drawing I made at five years old. A self-portrait where I saw myself as a bunny.

Now, Mielu travels through my paintings as a reminder of my child-self: innocent, playful, & endlessly creative. It keeps me from taking life too seriously, encouraging me to embrace spontaneity, find joy in simple moments, & appreciate the beauty of imperfection.

The original Mielu.

The name Mielu is inspired by the Spanish word miel, meaning honey.

Just like honey - simple yet sweet, so is childhood.
